Everything God Has For Us

So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision - you'll see it yet. Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it. (Philippians 3:15-16 MSG)

Not Turning Back

I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward - to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back. (Philippians 3:12-14 MSG)

Today's meditation:
  • The goal is not to build magnificent structures or to create a great name for ourselves, but simply put, the goal is to follow Jesus and not turn back.
Pray today:
  • For the people of Emmanuel College to keep our eyes on the goal - to follow Jesus wherever he leads us.
  • For unity in purpose and action, for sturdy resolve to push forward and meet all challenges in the name of Christ, for a clear and compelling vision for the future.

They Follow Him

After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. (John 10:4 NLT)

Today's meditation:
  • Were it not for our tendency to be so easily distracted and our stubbornness to go our own way, following Jesus sounds like such an easy task. It's really not that hard. We just make it so.
Pray today:
  • For all who lead at Emmanuel College to be careful to follow the leader, Jesus Christ.

Today's meditation:
  • From being the God of a single nation to becoming the Sovereign Lord of his glorious church that has no border or limits, we rejoice in God's salvation. Faith in Him

Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world. (Romans 1:8 NLT)

Today's meditation:
  • We don't usually relish the idea of people talking about us unless it's about what God has done through us so that he is honored and his work advanced.
Pray today:

Urgent Needs

Our people must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others; then they will not be unproductive. (Titus 3:14 NLT)

Pray today:
  • For the people who are suffering in the aftermath of hurricanes Michael and Florence, for the families among our students who are being affected by these disasters, for the EC Serve response to these areas to be expanded, for EC alumni from around the nation to be effective in bringing relief, for the DRUSA teams on site.

Your Light

Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. (Isaiah 58:10 NLT)

Determined

Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. (Isaiah 50:7 NLT)

Today's meditation:
  • Although it is an admirable trait when a 4-year old wants to do a task all by herself, sometimes a little help makes the outcome much better. May we do our part and make every effort to grow and improve, but may we also know when to yield and allow God to help us.
Pray today:
  • For the people of Emmanuel College to be determined to know and do God's will in every aspect of our mission and vision, for us to be wise, strong, and courageous, for us to be innovative and nimble, for us to be wary of the traps of the enemy and to defeat him on every occasion, for us to see the possibilities before us and to seize them.
Pray for the top three needs of Emmanuel College:
  • To hear the Word of the Lord regarding life after debt and our vision for an expanded mission for 2018 and beyond.

Morning by Morning

The Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will. (Isaiah 50:4 NLT)

Today's meditation:
  • We like the instantaneous and the sensational, but life with God is more of a day by day trek into his wisdom and will, that is, if we are following closely.
Pray today:

I Will Save

But the Lord says, "The captives of warriors will be released, and the plunder of tyrants will be retrieved. For I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children." (Isaiah 49:25 NLT)

Today's meditation:
  • Be encouraged in the fight because he is with us in the fight.
Pray today:
  • For the students of Emmanuel College to be saved - some saved from their unregenerate condition, others saved from their past, some saved from bad habits, others saved from poor decision-making, and all of them saved from the decaying impact of modern society.
  • For our students to hear the call of God in their lives, some called to be pastors and preachers, others called to be teachers and mentors, some called to be missionaries on the home front and others on foreign soil, and all of them called to be servants of the Lord, called to lifestyles of true holiness, and called to be salt and light in a distasteful, darkened world.
Pray for the top three needs of Emmanuel College:
  • To hear the Word of the Lord regarding life after debt and our vision for an expanded mission for 2018 and beyond.
  • To enroll more than 1000 students in August 2019.

Live in peace with each other. Do not be proud, but make friends with those who seem unimportant. Do not think how smart you are. (Romans 12:16 NCV)
