Not Turning Back

I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward - to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back. (Philippians 3:12-14 MSG)

Today's meditation:

• The goal is not to build magnificent structures or to create a great name for ourselves, but simply put, the goal is to follow Jesus and not turn back.

Pray today:

• For the people of Emmanuel College to keep our eyes on the goal - to follow Jesus wherever he leads us.
• For unity in purpose and action, for sturdy resolve to push forward and meet all challenges in the name of Christ, for a clear and compelling vision for the future.

Pray for the top three needs of Emmanuel College:

• To hear the Word of the Lord regarding life after debt and our vision for an expanded mission for 2018 and beyond.
• To enroll more than 1000 students in August 2019.
• To continue reducing our debt over the next five years with the purpose of becoming debt-free.

Pray for upcoming events and activities:.

• General chapel services on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and School of Christian Ministries chapel services on Thursdays at 11 a.m.
• Fall Preview recruiting event, November 2-4.
• Spring Semester enrollment in January 2019 to exceed expectations because of better retention, larger numbers of new students, and a total enrollment of 900 or more.
• EC Serve trips for 2019 in the planning stages to Alaska, Appalachia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Myanmar, and Panama.
