Worship Christ the King

Sunday – And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger (Luke 2:6-7). Pray for Emmanuel College to be a delivery room for souls saved by the child in the manger who is lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

Monday – . . . the heavenly host praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest" (Luke 2:13-14). Pray for the people of Emmanuel to worship God and honor him with our praise.

Tuesday – . . . the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us" (Luke 2:15). Pray for the people of Emmanuel to move at his command and see what God is doing among us.

Wednesday – And when they came into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down and worshiped him (Matthew 2:11). Pray for the people of Emmanuel to see Jesus - to really see him, to humble ourselves and worship him.

Thursday – And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to him (Matthew 2:11). Pray for our students, staff, and faculty to give him our lives as vessels of worship and service.

Friday – . . . a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel (Luke 2:32). Pray for revelation and revival to come to our campus that all may know the God who is with us.

Saturday – Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life (John 8:12). Pray for the people of Emmanuel College to follow the Light in an ever darkening world.

December 18-24, 2022

Proclaiming Christ this Christmas

Sunday – ". . . for he who is mighty has done great things for me . . ." (Luke 1:49). Pray for a view of the future for Emmanuel College that always draws confidence from the great things he has done for us in the past.

Monday – Because of God's tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us . . . (Luke 1:78). Pray for those at Emmanuel who are weary, fearful, or discouraged to find hope in God's mercy and to see God's pathway bathed in his holy light.

Tuesday – Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him . . . (Matthew 1:24). Pray for the leadership of Emmanuel College to follow courageously wherever the Lord leads us. 

Wednesday – . . . and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, "God with us" (Matthew 1:23). Pray for the people of Emmanuel College to endure every circumstance and challenge living life with God.

Thursday – And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God . . . (Isaiah 9:6). Pray for the people of Emmanuel College to be faithful in following the counsel of God and to rejoice in his mighty power to save.

Friday – And he will be called . . . Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Pray for Emmanuel College to be sustained by the One who is everlasting and to enjoy the peace of God even in the middle of the storms of life.

Saturday – But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to me the one to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting (Micah 5:2 NKJV). Pray for Emmanuel College, small and insignificant in the eyes of the world, but mighty as one of God's places of transformation and service.

December 11-17, 2022

Proclaiming Christ this Christmas

Sunday – In the beginning was the Word . . . (John 1:1). Pray during this Christmas season for the people of Emmanuel College to be quick to share the Jesus story from the manger to the cross to the hearts of all who will receive him.

Monday – The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.(John 1:5). Pray for the preservation of religious freedoms throughout our nation. 

Tuesday – And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us . . . (John 1:14). Pray for the students, staff, and faculty of Emmanuel College to commit ourselves to life with God.

Wednesday – ". . . and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly" (Luke 1:17). Pray for those who rebel against the Lord to receive the Word gladly from the people of Emmanuel who share the gospel as never before.

Thursday – Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God." (Luke 1:30). Pray for the people of Emmanuel College to dismiss anxiety and eliminate fear as we trust in the favor of the Lord.

Friday – ". . . and of His kingdom there will be no end." (Luke 1:33). Pray for Emmanuel College to be a place where the Lord reigns, where his kingdom comes and his will is done.

Saturday – For with God nothing will be impossible (Luke 1:37). Pray for faith rising within us to believe God for things that people say are impossible. 

December 4-10, 2022

Sunday – Pray for the employees of Emmanuel College to work together to fulfill God's vision for our future.

Monday – Pray for courage to take a stand for Christ in a wicked and selfish world.

Tuesday – Pray for a way forward that differentiates Emmanuel College as a unique place of faith and learning that attracts students who will be world-changers.

Wednesday – Pray for the leadership of Emmanuel College to be strong and have courage to follow where the Holy Spirits leads.

Thursday – Pray for abundant resources to expand our recruiting and marketing initiatives and to implement the enrollment plan.

Friday – Pray for a significant infusion of funding to strengthen our fundraising initiatives and to implement the advancement plan.

Saturday – Pray for other initiatives and plans, some yet to be developed, that will energize our mission and enable our vision.

Sunday – Pray for the employees of Emmanuel College to unite behind our mission and core values as we navigate a chaotic and wicked world.

Monday – Pray for the students who were saved during the fall semester to grow in grace and to find direction by the Holy Spirit.

Tuesday – Pray for our faculty to intensify their efforts to integrate faith and learning with a biblical worldview.

Wednesday – Pray for prospective students who are contemplating enrolling this January. May they find resources to enroll and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Thursday – Pray for our students who are discouraged. Pray for them to find the courage and persistence to enroll for another semester.

Friday – Pray for Emmanuel College to be a shining light in the darkness of this world, reflecting the love of Jesus and his message of redemption and renewal.

Saturday – Pray for our efforts to proclaim God's Word and its life-changing power that transforms our lives.

November 20-26, 2022

Sunday – Pray for new recruiting and retention strategies to be implemented successfully and to be effective in exceeding our goals.

Monday – Pray for our faculty and staff as they wrap up the fall semester this week.

Tuesday – Pray for our students and employees who will be traveling this week for Thanksgiving. Pray for safe travels and good health.

Wednesday – Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in our midst to bring solutions to the challenges we face at Emmanuel College.

Thursday – Happy Thanksgiving to all. Pray for those less fortunate. Pray for provision and for thankful hearts regardless of circumstances.

Friday – Pray for our employees over the Thanksgiving break to find rest and renewal and to be encouraged to continue their work with our students.

Tuesday – Pray for the General Conference of the IPHC that begins tomorrow, for obedience to the Holy Spirit in all deliberations and decisions, especially those related to higher education.

Wednesday – Pray for the Emmanuel admissions team to be effective in sharing the mission of the College during General Conference.

Thursday – Pray for the IPHC to find new and exciting ways to support higher education throughout the denomination.

Friday – Pray for Emmanuel College to be an effective training ground for the youth of the IPHC.

Saturday – Pray for Emmanuel College and the IPHC to be fruitful in the next four years of ministry and service before the General Conference meets again.

Monday – Pray for a harvest of souls on and off campus, for revival in our residence halls and gatherings and through our ministry teams as they travel.

Tuesday – Pray for our strategies and actions in undergraduate and graduate recruiting to be successful in these last few weeks before classes begin.

Wednesday – Pray for YouthQuest that begins this week. Pray for safe travels for all who will attend.

Thursday – Pray for the young people who will attend YouthQuest to be receptive to Holy Spirit, for many to be saved, for many to renew their commitment to the Lord, and for many to be called to full-time Christian service.

Friday – Pray for the Emmanuel admissions team to be very effective with the youth attending YouthQuest and to help them in their decision-making.

Saturday – Pray for all the events of YouthQuest, for every speaker to be effective, for every service to usher us into the presence of God, and for the fine arts events to honor the Lord.

Sunday – Pray for spiritual life planning for this fall including our chapel services and speakers, Alpha Weekend, and other events and activities that focus on spiritual development.

Monday – Pray for our students who may need additional financial provisions for this fall to find all the resources they need to enroll.

Tuesday – Pray for our staff and faculty who are making final preparations for the fall semester. Pray for wisdom and physical energy to complete all tasks.

Wednesday – Pray for the growth and success of Emmanuel Online this fall, both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Thursday – Pray for the fundraising project for the Aaron Building to raise enough funds to cover the cost of renovations this summer.

Friday – Pray for Student Life Division personnel as they plan orientation, housing check-in, student activities, career services, and so much more.

Sunday – Pray for revival throughout our nation that will disarm prejudices, breakdown self interests, and bring redemption and healing to our people.

Monday – Pray for our nation on this Independence Day and pray that our religious freedoms will be protected and preserved.

Tuesday – Pray for the Supreme Court to make just decisions.

Wednesday – Pray for the President and the executive branch of government to lead wisely and to consider all Americans before executive actions are taken.

Thursday – Pray for the Congress to make just laws and to find ways to effectively collaborate in ways that protect and prosper all Americans.

Friday – Pray for state and local governments to rule fairly and to provide protections and opportunities that allow their citizens to prosper.

Monday – Pray for new and returning students who are planning to enroll this fall to be blessed with the financial resources they need.

Tuesday – Pray for students who are yet to decide about enrolling this fall. Pray for those who should be at Emmanuel to obey the Lord.

Wednesday – Pray for those involved in planning for fall semester to have energy and insight to complete their respective tasks. 

Thursday – Pray for the youth campus being held across our conferences this summer to be effective in reaching the youth of the church for Jesus. 

Friday – Pray for the advertising for our graduate programs to be successful in helping us reach our enrollment goals this fall.

Saturday – Pray daily for revival and renewal on our campus. May we renew our commitment to serve the Lord. (Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. - Ps. 37:5 NLT).

Sunday – Thank God for a successful EC Serve team to Peru, our first mission trip since the pandemic. Pray for planning and funding for several trips next summer.

Monday – Pray for the Conquest music ministry team to be effective in the youth camps where they will serve this summer.

Tuesday – Pray for our marketing efforts to be successful in reaching prospective students who will enroll this fall.

Wednesday – Pray for the EC Mission team to receive energy and strength to complete the various remodeling projects this week. 

Thursday – Pray for YouthQuest to be effective in reaching our youth and in helping them form Christian character and lives of service to God's kingdom.

Friday – Pray for ongoing meetings and implementation plans for our graduate programs this fall.

Saturday – Pray daily for revival and renewal on our campus. May we be transformed by the mighty power of God (Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. - Rom. 12:2 NLT).

Monday – Pray for the Conquest music ministry team traveling to youth camps and churches this summer. Pray safe travels, effective ministry, and recruiting opportunities.

Tuesday – Pray for the admissions counselors working out of the call center on campus this summer. Pray for success in recruiting.

Wednesday – Pray for more volunteers to join the EC Mission team June 12-25 to work on various remodeling projects. 

Thursday – Pray for YouthQuest to draw thousands of young people many of whom will enroll at Emmanuel College this fall and in the years to come.

Friday – Pray for all of our graduate programs to exceed enrollment goals this fall.

Monday – Pray for ministry teams that will be traveling this summer. Pray for their effectiveness in sharing the Gospel and in recruiting for the college.

Tuesday – Pray for prospective students who are making final decisions this summer to attend Emmanuel. Pray for God's provision for them.

Wednesday – Pray for the EC Mission team that will gather on campus this month to work on various remodeling projects. Pray for their strength and energy.

Thursday – Pray for our recruiting efforts this summer at YouthQuest and General Conference to be successful.

Friday – Pray for marketing and recruiting activities for the master's degree program in elementary education that they will exceed enrollment goals for fall semester. 

Saturday – Pray daily for revival and renewal on our campus. May we be in tune with what the Spirit prays for us. (But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words-Ro. 8:26).

Thursday – Pray for staff and faculty who will be engaged this summer and fall in multiple layers of planning and envisioning the future.

Friday – Pray for marketing and recruiting activities for the master's degree programs in ministry and divinity that they will exceed enrollment goals for fall semester.

Tuesday – Pray for our students to seek God's will for their lives, to give him first place. 

Wednesday – Pray for our students and graduates as they move into new roles, new jobs, and new relationships. Pray for safety in their travels.

Thursday – Pray for safe travels for the many family members of our graduates who will be traveling to attend Commencement activities this weekend. 

Friday – Pray for the summer plans of our students to provide them rest and resources in preparation for the next school year.

Tuesday – Pray for those who are developing the plans to renovate the Swails Center and for the implementation that begins this summer. 

Wednesday – Pray for students and faculty involved in the Academic Showcase today presenting student research and performance in many academic disciplines.

Thursday – Pray for fundraising success to enable several projects this summer including additional Aaron Building improvements and enhanced security systems campus-wide.

Friday – Pray for our students as they complete the last day of classes for this semester and begin preparing for exams next week.

Saturday – Pray for the effective witness of Christian colleges throughout our nation.

Monday – Pray for those involved in the process of refinancing the College's debt. Pray for gifts that help us reduce the debt.

Tuesday – Continue to pray for the approval of a grant for Emmanuel that will be considered next week by the board of a foundation that has helped us in the past. 

Wednesday – Pray for the senior leadership team to make wise decisions under the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit.

Thursday – Pray for donors who will make transformational gifts that propel the vision forward for future generations.

Friday – Continue to pray for the development and implementation of our graduate programs that will launch this fall.

Saturday – Pray for the election of godly men and women to government who support Christian values and possess wisdom.
