Silence the Roar

For the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall, or like the relentless heat of the desert. But you silence the roar of foreign nations. As the shade of a cloud cools relentless heat, so the boastful songs of ruthless people are stilled. (Isaiah 25:4a-5 NLT)

Today's prayer topics:
  • Relentless opposition to God's purpose comes from many directions and creates incessant noise, distracting us, but the Lord silences the roar of the storm, sometimes by removing the storm and at other times by simply letting our voices of praise rise above it.
  • Pray we forgive the oppressive acts of the past and present, and set our minds to the work before us, which with God's help makes our future bright.
  • Pray for strength and energy for our facilities team who are finishing up many projects before the bulk of our students arrive for Spring Semester.
Thank you for praying.

Built on Bedrock

Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock. (Matthew 7:24-25 NLT)

Today's prayer topics:
  • From the Word wisdom calls us. Through the Word we stand in the whelming flood - against all odds.
  • Pray we are wise in our actions to follow God's plan for Emmanuel College in 2016, and at the end of the year, find ourselves stronger and more secure than when we started.
Thank you for praying.

Never give up unless its praise we give up to God; never give in except to give in to him.

  • Pray for important meetings today to be successful regarding the composition of the report we are writing for our accreditation agency.

The Lives of Others

When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves. Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others. (Philippians 2:3-4 NCV)

Today's prayer topics:
  • The life God intends is not about our comfort or even our survival, but about living out his purposes for the good of others, especially those who do not know him well.
  • Pray we expand our mission to others who need what Christ has to offer, and at the same time, pray we are diligent and resourceful in strengthening our primary responsibilities to educate and develop our students.
Thank you for praying.

Working Together

Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Today's prayer topics:
  • The love and encouragement of Christ are beyond words, but pray we also show tenderness and compassion to one another, propelling each other forward in common purpose.

Press On

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.  (Philippians 3:14 NLT)

Today's prayer topics:
§ Picking up Paul's words where we left them yesterday, after putting the past behind us and changing our focus to the future, we must press on.
§ Pray we press on, praying much, preparing well, pursuing tenaciously, loving passionately, giving sacrificially, obeying completely - all through Jesus Christ who is calling us to run this race faithfully.
Thank you for praying.

Answered prayers:
§ Thankful for all the people who stand with Emmanuel College, supporting us with prayers, actions, and gifts.
Never give up unless its praise we give up to God; never give in except to give in to him.
