Day 10 - I will praise you

Day 10 of 40 days of prayer and fasting for a future full of hope

Praise first
and then offer prayers of intercession and petition for your families, your neighbors, for the living, breathing church, for our communities and nation, for the world, and for Emmanuel College.

Pray through for clear vision of God's mission for Emmanuel College in 2020 and beyond. Pray that the impact of the pandemic will not impede our progress.

The Word of the Lord: I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. (Psalm 9:1 NLT)

Day 9 - Praying through the night

Day 9 of 40 days of prayer and fasting for a future full of hope

Pray first as you go to bed at night and first thing as you wake. Pray through the night of fear and doubt. Hold fast to the Light for your feet on a dark path. Pray until darkness gives way to the Son and his will is done.

Pray through for our nation's leaders to use wisdom, understanding, and common sense regarding the reopening of our economic and social structures.

The Word of the Lord: Now at this time Jesus went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God. (Luke 6:12 AMP)

Day 8 - While it is still dark

Day 8 of 40 days of prayer and fasting for a future full of hope

Pray now while darkness broods, whether in our world or in our lives, despite threats and tragedies. Now is the time to pray, to follow Christ's example, to break from darkness into day seeking the face of the Father.

Pray through for provision for Emmanuel College during the challenges presented by the pandemic.

The Word of the Lord: Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left [the house], and went out to a secluded place, and was praying there. (Mark 1:35 AMP)

Day 7 - Hope enduring

Day 7 or 40 days of prayer and fasting for a future full of hope

Pray first
for faith to sprout and grow across our campus, for roots that sink deep into the Word of God, for strength of character to stand against evil, for resilience despite failure, for hope enduring.

Pray through for the eradication of the COVID-19 virus, for an end to the pandemic, for victory over this evil disruption that turns into shouts of joy.

The Word of the Lord: And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. (Matthew 6:13 NLT)

Day 6 - Bring revival

Day 6 of 40 days of prayer and fasting for a future full of hope

Pray first for a deep hunger to know Jesus, for an insatiable desire to enjoy his abiding presence. May our students, staff and faculty know him intimately, share him generously, and serve him obediently.

Pray through for Spirit-led revival on our campus this fall flowing through students, staff, faculty, and administration.

The Word of the Lord: Forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. (Matthew 6:12 NLT)

Day 5 - The bread we need

Pray first for provision for Emmanuel College, for our students, and for our employees.

Pray through for revenue from enrollment and fundraising to meet the needs of the mission of Emmanuel College and to underwrite the vision.

The Word of the Lord: Give us this day the bread we need. (Matthew 6:11 Phillips)

Day 4 - When you fast

Day 4 of 40 days of prayer and fasting for a future full of hope

Pray first and also fast for the eradication of the coronavirus in a way that leads to revival around the globe, for the new normal to be one where Christ is worshiped and where evil is disrupted and vanquished, for rapid economic recovery for all including Emmanuel College.

Pray through for the Emmanuel College staff, faculty, and senior leadership team to pray intensely, live abundantly, serve passionately, and during these difficult times, to overcome our worries by living out our faith.

The Word of the Lord: When you fast, don't look like those miserable play-actors! For they deliberately disfigure their faces so that people may see that they are fasting . . . No, when you fast, brush your hair and wash your face so that nobody knows that you are fasting - let it be a secret between you and your Father. And your Father who knows all secrets will reward you. (Matthew 6:16-18 Phillips)
