Tremendous Power

Arise in Prayer - Day 21 of 21

Confess and acknowledge how you have offended one another and then pray for one another to be instantly healed, for tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer. (James 5:16 TPT)

Jesus asked a question once, "How can you remove the splinter from someone's eye when you have a log in your own?" In the verse above, the KJV uses the words "righteous man," and we translate it "Christian person," but maybe it means "a person living right with God" (MSG). That person's prayers are effective. Thinking of Jesus' question, it follows that the prayer of a self-righteous person, the one with the log in his or her eye, is ineffective. Logs come in various sizes and types but some of the most common are bitterness because of what someone did to us, festering wounds from broken relationships, hate and prejudice, self-righteous indignation, hypocrisy. James gives us the solution. Confess to one another. Ask forgiveness from others and from God. Then, our log-in-the-eye condition can be healed, and our prayers will have tremendous power.

Pray for yourself today with self-inspection. Pray for others, for those who have offended you, and those you may have offended. 

Pray every Sunday for revival and renewal to saturate our campus this semester.

Pray daily for the few among our students and employees who have the corona virus. Pray for their healing and comfort. Pray for our COVID-19 Response Team that cares for students in quarantine and isolation. Pray for the eradication of this virus.
