Humble

Happy are those who are humble; they will receive what God has promised! (Matthew 5:5 GNB)

• Humble and passive are words often used together, but they are not synonyms, because humble people have been known to lead from the front and breathe fire.
• Pray for the kind of humility that recognizes who we are in the context of who God is and in light of his command to passionately serve others even if it costs much.
• Pray for leaders who are free of arrogance and notions of privilege, who humble themselves before Almighty God, leading with determination, persistence, and unconquerable love.

Give thanks for God's generous care and for his answers to our prayers:

• We thank God for his promises to us who believe and walk in his ways.
