I Am Here

He saw that they were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling against the wind and waves. About three o'clock in the morning Jesus came toward them walking on the water. . .They were all terrified when they saw him. But Jesus spoke to them at once. "Don't be afraid, " he said.  "Take courage! I am here!" (Mark 6:48, 50 NLT)

Today's prayer topics:

• Pray for our friends and families in danger from Hurricane Matthew to take courage in knowing that Jesus is with them.
• Pray for the hurricane to go out to sea and inflict minimal damage.
• Pray for courage in every storm, whether literal or figurative, and pray we look to Jesus who walks calmly upon the turmoil and commands the forces around us to obey him.

Give thanks for God's generous care and for his answers to our prayers:

• Thanks be to God for the peace and comfort he brings in the midst of the storm.

As the praises go up, the power comes down.
