Encouraging Words

"He [king of Assyria] may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!" Hezekiah's words greatly encouraged the people. (2 Chronicles 32:8 NLT)

Give thanks for God's generous care and for his answers to our prayers:

• We praise God and give thanks for the Lord our God who loves us and fights for us.

Today's prayer topics:

• Pray we use our words wisely remembering they can be powerful weapons of hurt or they can be a healing balm.
• Pray for those who speak encouraging words to have greater influence than those who don't.
• Pray the words of the Lord dominate our thoughts at Emmanuel College helping us keep a correct perspective between our potential in Almighty God and the works of mere men.

As the praises go up, the power comes down.
