Message of the Cross

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18 NLT)

Today's meditation:

• Whether shiny and gold or rugged and blood-stained, the cross symbolizes the ultimate sacrifice and the power of God that cancels the death sentence for you and me.

Pray today:

• For wisdom in placing Christian symbols across our campus in ways that remind people of the message of the Gospel and the power of God to save us.
• For students who need Jesus to find Jesus, for those who need a closer walk with God to walk closer to God, for those who are seeking God's purpose in their lives to move with purpose to discover his will and way. 

Pray for the top three needs of Emmanuel College:

• To hear the Word of the Lord regarding life after debt and our vision for an expanded mission for 2018 and beyond.
• To enroll more than 1000 students in August 2019.
• To continue reducing our debt over the next five years with the purpose of becoming debt-free.

Pray for upcoming events and activities:.

• General chapel services on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and School of Christian Ministries chapel services on Thursdays at 11 a.m.
• Vision 4 Education Celebration sponsored by Women's Ministries, October 5.
• Board of Trustees Meeting, October 5-6.
• Homecoming Weekend, October 19-21.
• Fall Preview recruiting event, November 2-4.
