They Follow Him

After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. (John 10:4 NLT)

Today's meditation:

• Were it not for our tendency to be so easily distracted and our stubbornness to go our own way, following Jesus sounds like such an easy task. It's really not that hard. We just make it so.

Pray today:

• For all who lead at Emmanuel College to be careful to follow the leader, Jesus Christ.
• For committees and task groups, for chairpersons and group leaders, for deans and department heads, for the faculty senate, for the senior leadership team, for the board of trustees - for all of us to follow Jesus closely.
• For student leaders of clubs and organizations, for the student senate, for the Emmanuel Leadership Initiative, for leaders of The Vine small group ministry, for student outreach ministry teams - for all of them to follow Jesus closely.

Pray for the top three needs of Emmanuel College:

• To hear the Word of the Lord regarding life after debt and our vision for an expanded mission for 2018 and beyond.
• To enroll more than 1000 students in August 2019.
• To continue reducing our debt over the next five years with the purpose of becoming debt-free.

Pray for upcoming events and activities:.

• General chapel services on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and School of Christian Ministries chapel services on Thursdays at 11 a.m.
• Fall Preview recruiting event, November 2-4.
• Spring Semester enrollment in January 2019 to exceed expectations because of better retention, larger numbers of new students, and a total enrollment of 900 or more.
• EC Serve trips for 2019 in the planning stages to Alaska, Appalachia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Myanmar, and Panama.
